Cake Design Start to Finish: Pretty Party Cake


Students will learn:

  • How to support the cake with dowels
  • How to make a decorative bow
  • Create a gingham ribbon border
  • Make strawberries and blossoms
  • How to pipe and paint patterns on the cake

Students will make:

Students will cover a two tiered cake in fondant and embellish the cake while learning various decorative techniques. 

Students are required to bring:

  • One fresh round 8" cake on a 12" drum (cake must be no less than 3" high and must be masked with Swiss Meringue Buttercream.)

Students must wear:

  • Flat closed hard toe shoes
  • Apron
Skill Level: Intermediate

Prerequisite: Must have basic fondant skills
