5. There are many other hotels located in downtown Toronto. We would advise choosing a hotel that is in close proximity to public transportation, especially the subway for more convenient travel to and from the school. Please contact these hotels directly or use your favourite search engine for best available rates.

Housing (Long Term Stays)

For students wishing to stay for longer periods of time like those enrolled in the Designer Cakes Certificate Programme, there are many options to look into. Some of these options are listed below.

1. The University of Toronto Independent Residences

The university has compiled a list of independent residence facilities in downtown Toronto. These facilities are not owned or operated by the University of Toronto or any of the city's other post-secondary institutions. These residences accept applications from the general public in addition to post-secondary students.

These residences all offer single rooms with easy access to the TTC. Some may offer double rooms, meal plans and/or cooking facilities, daily and weekly rates and gym facilities.

2. Public Listings for Accommodations

Always be careful with free systems!

3. The University of Toronto Summer Residence

U of T Residence(s) in the summer operate as hotels during the summer, offering short and long-term stays to students and members of the public. Summer terms range from 1 May to 30 August, depending on the residence. Each residence runs independently and there is no central booking. Thus, you must call the residence directly to make reservations. Please pay special attention to the dates they are open and any minimum stay requirements.

Take a look at the 2012 Summer Housing brochure for information about rates and amenities. You can call or e-mail those residences you are interested in to find out available dates and how to book.

4. Toronto Suite Furnished Luxury Apartments

Toronto Suites offers luxury furnished apartments in Toronto, Ontario. They offer a comfortable, affordable alternative to conventional Toronto hotels.
